Enjoyable 7 nights spent at Hilton Rose Hall

Myself & the family had a great holiday where we met some wonderful people. Room Pros - Amazing views to wake up to in the morning, we had views of the golf course & the ocean and it was spectacular. The cleaning staff were very friendly & attentive. Cons- The TV did not function for 2 days. Balcony furniture could do with renewal. Food Pros- The seaside Italian, jerk hut & rum factory served exceptional food. The buffet had a very wide selection to suit all. Cons- Was not happy about paying a $10 surcharge for room service in an all inclusive resort. The restaurants were not taking reservations so we were turned away on a few occasions due to being ‘full’, very disappointing. Paid $40 for a beachside barbecue which on the flier included lobster & crayfish (which was not available when attended the event, due to season). Was offered no refund when I complained at the time of event even although I did not eat anything. Entertainment Pros- Plenty going on all through the day & at night. Pool Pros- lazy river kept my daughter entertained during the day. Cons- Water slide for under 6s was only open for 2 days on the duration of our stay which was very disheartening for my daughter. Was told everyday the water pump for the slide would be fixed but never happened. No sun lounger available around any of the pools after 9am. If you want a sun lounger there, then be up at 6am with the rest of the zombies putting towels down.
Aston, Nathan, Chanique, Lisa, Melanie and the entire staff at Hilton Rose Hall makes the experience feel like home!

We are blessed to have been able to spend another family vacation at Hilton Rose Hall and surround ourselves with the beautiful people of Jamaica. This is not the Ritz so if that is what you are looking for, move on. This is the most family friendly resort filled with the most gracious staff that goes above and beyond to make your stay perfect. Aston and Nathan at poolside - I love these two gentleman. They could not do enough for us and are always just a glance away ready to serve up some delicious drinks or poolside cuisine. They feel like a part of the family now and are always happy to chat about the culture and give their honest recommendations. It has been an honor to have met both of these men and we feel blessed to have gotten to know them over our last few trips. Chanique, our room attendant - oh my goodness, what an Angel she is. She made my 6 year old sons stay so magical. Each day he would leave her a note and each day in return she would write back to him with a new towel animal including a crab, a penguin, a swan, and his personal favorite a hanging monkey! She was there each afternoon to greet him and waited for his excitement upon seeing her new creation. Our last day she was there screaming down the hall her last goodbyes and though his heart was broken, it meant the world to him. Lisa and Melanie In the kids club- sweetest humans on the planet. Our son and his BF (who we were traveling with) absolutely loved spending a few hours each afternoon with Lisa and Melanie. They make kids club so special. Though it appears small, it is a wonderful place that makes each child feel loved. Somehow they manage all ages from rocking infants to playing video games with the bigger kids. They remember each child’s name and we always felt that they were being cared for by women who were treating them as their own. Rooms- who cares? If you are spending time in the room then you aren’t on vacation. Yes, they could use an update but no, it affected our vacation in no way. To us, they are perfect! Food- I’m picky but I embraced the Jamaican culture and found myself so happy with the different flavors and cuisines. Specifically, the jerk pork with mango sauce and festival at the jerk hut is to DIE for! Get it in the afternoon and take it over to the high top tables on the beach and call yourself happy! The fried salt fish and fried Caliloo at the buffet were “chefs kiss”. Ask them for Jerk Ranch dressing - you’ll thank me! The food is what you make it. You probably won’t get the best burger of your life but embrace the Jamaican culture and you’ll leave completely satisfied! Disappointments- my major complaint was with many of the guests who didn’t put their hand in their pocket to tip for the extraordinary service. I was so disheartened and even heard someone say “well it’s all inclusive so why tip?” I’ll tell you why…because a service is being provided to us. If you get a dining gift card, the meal is comped but the service is not. Please think about that. These beautiful humans are working hard to make our experience special, why not make their days special as well? It feels really good to give back to those that go out of their way for the sake of our happiness and I do hope more people start to realize that and give a little extra, as well. All in all, we are blessed. We are lucky to have found Hilton Rose Hall and to have been embraced by the incredible staff. We cannot wait to return and miss it so much already!
