We were there last year I forgot to leave a review. Very big resort. Rooms were ok. Pools were nice. Food was ok. Good place to come with kids (except all the walking). Beach was very nice. The resort was clean. I would come back with my daughter.

this resort is absolutely amazing wendy at the 18+ pool was phenomenal the rooms were clean. beach was beautiful, and the bus was amazing to use to get around to all the different resorts. I definitely would recommend coming here and I for sure will be coming back with my friends.

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent stay at the Barcelo Hotel in Cancun, Mexico, from April 27 to May 6, 2025, during the Joe Dispenza retreat. Throughout my 9-day stay, I experienced constant disturbances every night due to excessive noise, including loud conversations and laughter from large groups of people. Despite repeatedly reporting this issue to the reception, I was informed that no other rooms were available for me to move to. Due to my commitment to the retreat, leaving the hotel was not an option. My room was also located a connecting door to another room, allowing noise to travel easily from the neighboring room, significantly impacting my privacy and the quality of my stay. I was unable to sleep properly for the entire duration, which severely affected my ability to fully participate and benefit from the retreat, for which I paid €4,500. Even during the day, the excessive noise from the surrounding area, including room service activities, further disrupted any opportunity to rest. I have never experienced such a lack of comfort in any hotel stay in my life. This experience has been nothing short of a disaster.

We returned to Barcelo Maya Beach once again to celebrate our wedding anniversary—this time, our 10th—and as always, it was an exceptional experience. What never ceases to amaze us is how the resort looks exactly the same as it did a decade ago. Everything is so well maintained that there are no signs of aging or wear and tear. Kudos to the team for their outstanding upkeep! The staff continues to impress with their friendliness and professionalism. A special thank you goes to Ivan R. from the Maya Beach concierge team for his outstanding customer service. He went above and beyond to accommodate our every request—thank you, Ivan! Barcelo Maya Beach remains our go-to resort whenever we’re looking to relax and enjoy the Riviera Maya. It truly feels like home.

The hotel is great and clean, the service is second to none, however, there are bugs living in the bed matress and I was bitten everywhere! The hotel did not respond to my complaint via e-mail, therefore, I am making this issue public. See attached photo. Check for bug, guests!
