The resort was well kept, and the service was awesome. If you were looking for somewhere with nightlife look somewhere else, but if you’re looking to relax, it is a wonderful resort.

First Visit to Royalton Hideaway – We’ll Be Back! We visited the Royalton Hideaway for the first time in May, and without a doubt, we’ll be returning. While we’re not usually fans of all-inclusives—having had both good and bad experiences in the past—this resort truly surprised us in the best way. We were looking for a quick, relaxing getaway, and our travel agent recommended this spot. We’re so glad she did. The Setting Taco is absolutely stunning—peaceful, laid back, and surrounded by beautiful scenery. The resort grounds are impeccably maintained, with lush landscaping, lovely pools, and a charming little lazy river that winds throughout. While the property does show a bit of age, it is immaculately clean. Each building has about 16 rooms and comes with a dedicated concierge. Ours, Sandra Jimenez in Building 25, was a dream—attentive, professional, helpful, and always available to answer questions or help with anything we needed. Housekeeping also deserves special mention. Isis and Andres kept our room spotless and always had a smile when we saw them. Dining Experience We hadn’t done much research beforehand, so we were pleasantly surprised to learn that the resort doesn’t offer buffet dinners. Instead, there are five à la carte restaurants where you reserve a table each night. We loved this approach—it gave dinner a more elevated and personal feel, and after the pandemic, we’re not keen on large buffets anyway. Each restaurant had its own unique theme—Mexican, Mediterranean, Italian, Asian, and a grill—and all were excellent. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and the service was on par with high-end restaurants back home. Dinner was something we truly looked forward to each night. A special thank you to Antonio Lopez, one of our servers, who made a lasting impression with his exceptional service, as well as Victor! Breakfasts featured a standard buffet with an omelet station, and lunch could be enjoyed from a small buffet or à la carte (we usually opted for both!). Once again, the service was outstanding. Two lovely hostesses, Kathis Galicia and Yuliana Perez, greeted us warmly each day and made us feel so welcome. We also want to recognize Daylin Ibarra, who we believe is the manager of the main restaurant and kitchen area. Originally from Cuba, Daylin ran her team like a well-oiled machine. She was always present, ensuring everything was running smoothly and checking in with guests. Her attention to detail was amazing—by the end of our stay, she even anticipated our preferences before we asked! Pool & Service There are two pools, one larger than the other, and both were clean and inviting. Drink service was exceptional—servers were constantly checking in, clearing empty glasses, and offering refreshments without us having to ask. Overall We fell in love with this resort—the food, the grounds, and most importantly, the staff. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay special. We’re already looking forward to coming back.

It is easy to write a great overall experience regarding the value of our stay at this beautiful resort. But I want to draw attention to Daylin Ibarra, Kathy Garcia and Yuliana Perez who front the beach front deck restaurant where you will find breakfast and lunch everyday. Daylin has clearly been trained in international hospitality and is a daily breath of fresh air. Thank you Daylin and staff for a wonderful experience.

Had a great experience and overall stay. Especially with Ricky Rosas help and giving me the best trip I could have hoped of. He was very communicative and knew exactly which places to recommend for my trip. I will definitely come back and hope to have him around again. I definitely also recommend him to other peers of mine for who out to seek a great trip.

5th time visiting. All visits great...except to May 2024 when air was out. That was a bad time for all. We knew that the staff was trying their best to make everyone happy. We came back in May 2025. Room temp was 19.5. That was great. Restaurants could still be cooler.
