WestJet shared that April marked a turning point in its 2025 operational performance, as the airline ranked fifth among the most on-time major North American carriers, according to official reports by Cirium. Having flown 15,284 flights, WestJet was the only Canadian carrier listed in the top five positions, with 82.36 per cent of flights arriving within 15 minutes of scheduled time—an 11 per cent improvement over March’s results.
“This positive momentum, driven by teamwork and a renewed focus on operational excellence, gives us a solid foundation as we transition into the summer travel season,” says Diederik Pen, President and Chief Operating Officer WestJet Group.
After a challenging start to 2025, WestJet teams have worked collaboratively across the network to also achieve a Completion Factor (CF) of 99.16 per cent amid a competitive North American operating environment.
“Many airlines posted positive April performance, but the remarkable dedication of WestJet’s broader team to achieve several days with more than 90 per cent on-time arrival and 100 per cent completion factor was instrumental in our strong second-quarter start,” added Pen.
WestJet remains focused on continuing to post strong on-time performance and delivering a reliable, guest-focused experience.
